What am I doing?
Using My Fitness Pal to track calories and using their estimate to see how many calories I should eat to lose approximately a kilogram a month.
I don’t (currently) consume any additional fitness calories I may earn. Its partly because I think that calories get underestimated and also because I need a bit of a cushion for the times in the week when I inevitably end up drinking/going out/eating more.
I eat (mostly) whatever I want, though I’m doing my best to increase my protein and fibre and reduce my sugar. I’m hoping to be more conscious of that as time goes by, right now the focus is on calories to learn proper portion sizes.
As you can see above, my fitness goal is to work out at least 30 minutes a day on 6-7 days of the week. Usually I go swimming at the Vijaynagar Swim Centre. On days when I can’t get someone to come along for that, I try to either go for a run (I used to run about 3-4 km a few months ago, though I don’t enjoy it much) or do an aerobics video from youtube (I’ve addicted my roommate to these, too!) The exercise is just to get healthy and have fun.
